Album 10/ 7. The silence shallows me

"The silence shallows me"

Jean-Paul VERNERET

The city sleeps, but my footsteps echo.

Each echo sends me back to the void.

I stretched out my hands toward an absent sun.

And my fingers grasped only the icy wind.

The pale streetlights on the sidewalks abandon me.

The rain on my face in pearls decides.

To slide slowly, like a dream you feel.

And flee into the shadows where everything has faded.

chorus

Even if the silence swallows me.

In the rain that blurs my eyes.

I don't want to disappear.

Like my name that is gradually being erased.

Facing the sky that doesn't respond.

Even if the silence swallows me up, without equal.

The streetlights go out one by one

And the night spreads like a heavy sheet

I scream, but my voice is lost

Between hands and broken memories

Under the oppressive sky, I continue on my way

The rolling mist holds me back every day

My cry is lost in the distance, swallowed by the air

And my soul falls asleep in an icy dream

chorus

Even if the silence swallows me

In the rain that blurs my eyes

I don't want to disappear

like my name that is gradually being erased

Facing the sky that doesn't respond

Even if the silence swallows me up without equal

If you listen in the midst of Shadows

Perhaps you will hear my breath

It still bears your name

Even on the edge of oblivion

If you listen carefully amidst the shadows

Perhaps you will hear the shudder of my breath

It slips into the night, lost like a pardon

And fades in the morning in the cooled radiance

Chorus

Even if silence swallows me

In the rain that blurs my eyes

I don't want to disappear

Like my name that is gradually being erased

Facing the sky that doesn't respond

Even if silence swallows me up without equal
