Album 34 / 6. The wind in our sails
The Wind in Our Sails
Jean-Paul VERNERET
11/5/2026
We leave behind the sleeping harbor lights
The faded vows, the cold and restless nights
The wind within our sails will clear the way
And bring a little light back to the gray
We follow stars like our last guiding flame
Still keeping hope alive through hurt and pain
And if the world forgets we once belonged
The sea will still remember every song
Bridge
The wind strikes hard, it tastes of salt and rain
We sail alone beneath the sky again
No judging eyes, no voices to condemn
We live this moment now and breathe again
Chorus
We run away to sea, beyond the line
A different air, another life to find
No ceilings left, no walls to close us in
Just endless blue stretched wide against the wind
To find again the things we thought were gone
We run away to sea before the dawn
Without a sound into the night we ride
To catch the silver foam beneath the tide
The waves are drawing roads we cannot read
Old shattered dreams still resting in our hands
But every horizon sparks a hidden flame
Like timid sunlight after endless rain
We still move on carried by the tide
Through silent hours and gusts we cannot fight
And in the vastness stretching endlessly
We learn again to trust what still may be
